On or before July 5, 2005, the Deep Impact spacecraft's copper "impactor" will have successfully collided with the nucleus of Comet Tempel 1. Impact with the comet's nucleus is required for the claim to be judged "True". If the impactor simply passes through the coma or misses alltogether, the claim shall be judged "false". The claim may be judged immediately upon a definitive press release by NASA, JPL, the University of Maryland, or Ball Aerospace and Technology Corp.
